World Coconut Day (2nd September)

World Coconut Day is observed on September 2 to commemorate the formation of Asian Pacific Coconut Community (APCC). The APCC is headquartered at Jakarta, Indonesia and all major coconut growing countries including India are members of APCC.

Teacher's Day, 5th of September, 2022

Teacher's Day (5th September)

September 5 has been declared Teacher’s Day in India. Our former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on 5 September 1888, so because of his love and attachment to the teaching profession, Teachers’ Day is celebrated all over India on his birthday.

International Literacy Day (8th September)

Since 1967, International Literacy Day (ILD) celebrations have taken place annually around the world to remind the public of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights, and to advance the literacy agenda towards a more literate and sustainable society.

Hindi Diwas (14th September)

आजादी मिलने के दो साल बाद 14 सितबंर 1949 को संविधान सभा में एक मत से हिंदी को राजभाषा घोषित किया गया था। इस निर्णय के बाद हिंदी को हर क्षेत्र में प्रसारित करने के लिए राष्ट्रभाषा प्रचार समिति, वर्धा के अनुरोध पर 1953 से पूरे भारत में 14 सितंबर को हर साल हिंदी दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाने लगा।

Engineer's Day (15th September)

The birth anniversary of Sir M Visvesvaraya is celebrated as Engineer’s Day since 1968 as a tribute to a the great engineer who helped in building some of the architectural marvels including Krishna Raja Sagar dam in Karnataka

 

International Day of Democracy (15th September)

The International Day of Democracy is celebrated around the world on 15 September each year. It was established through a resolution passed by the UN General Assembly in 2007, encouraging governments to strengthen and consolidate democracy.

World Ozone Day (16th September)

The ozone layer, a fragile shield of gas, protects the Earth from the harmful portion of the rays of the sun, thus helping preserve life on the planet. World Ozone Day is observed on September 16, every year. It is celebrated to spread awareness among people about the depletion of the Ozone Layer and search for possible solutions to preserve it.

World Alzheimer's Day (21st September)

The day aims at raising awareness about the disease, dementia, common symptoms, and risk factors attached to it. In many countries, World Alzheimer’s Day is observed throughout the month. The day also raises awareness about the severity of Alzheimer’s disease and its causes.

 

 

Day for Peace & Non-Violence (21st September)

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

International Day of Sign Languages (23rd September)

The UN General Assembly has proclaimed 23 September as the International Day of Sign Languages in order to raise awareness of the importance of sign language in the full realization of the human rights of people who are deaf.

World Rivers' Day (25th September)

World Rivers Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of September every year to increase public awareness about rivers and to encourage their conservation. The day celebrates Earth’s waterways, in which over 60 countries participate every year.

 

 

International Translation Day (30th September)

International Translation Day is meant as an opportunity to pay tribute to the work of language professionals, which plays an important role in bringing nations together, facilitating dialogue, understanding and cooperation, contributing to

development and strengthening world peace and security.
